Every basket is custom made to your specificiations using only the highest quality materials to ensure a sturdy, long lasting basket.

Materials Used For Weaving: Reed, which comes from the tropical vine calamus rotang, generally known as "rattan" is the material most often used on our baskets. The inner core of the plant is processed into round, flat and flat/oval lengths.

Accent Colors: The accent reed strips are hand dyed with either fabric dye or a specially formulated basket dye. Please see color chart below for choices available.

Embellishments: Baskets can be decorated with raffia bows, hand painted hearts, silk flowers, wooden, ceramic or leather tie ons.

All baskets are proudly handcrafted by myself here in the United States, using quality materials. Prices are based on my time to weave the basket plus materials. This includes all phases of weaving the basket, i.e. designing it, cutting and dying the reed, actual weaving time, then singeing the wayward hairs/fibers with a propane torch and staining the basket with a walnut hull solution. After the basket is dry, any leftover pieces of "wayward" reed/hairs are trimmed off with a small scissors and then a coat of lemon oil is applied.

Size Specifications: Because the baskets are hand-made and "free-woven" (without use of molds) with natural materials, all measurements are approximate and may vary slightly in size and could be as much as 1" to 2.5" larger or smaller than quoted. Please keep this in mind when ordering a custom size for use on a specific shelf, cubby or enclosed space. Measurements are listed as Length x Width x Height of basket.

Liners and garters are hand sewn to fit each individual basket. Some of the baskets also include an additional base insert which is made from heavy duty foam board, (with the exception of picnic basket, which we use luan board) and covered with the same fabric as the garter. Please note that fabric patterns may vary depending upon availability and may not be the same fabric that is shown in our photographs. All patterns will be chosen with a country theme in mind, however, and if you are not totally satisfied with the particular fabric used, please let me know.

Baskets: Gently wipe off loose dust with a natural bristle brush or vacuum cleaner attachment. Keep baskets out of direct sunlight to prevent colors from fading.

Liners and Garters: Wash in cold water on gentle cycle or by hand. Tumble dry on low setting or air dry.

Warning: Please note that many of our baskets include removable decorations and should be kept out of the reach of small children. Always use a liner or cloth napkin in basket before placing food inside.

Baskets with hand painted stencils and flowers will be color coordinated to match the accent reed and/or fabric of garter or liner selected.
